What is Power of Attorney?

Power of Attorney gives a selected person or Trustee company such as Tasmanian Perpetual Trustees the power to act and sign on your behalf when required. It is very important to select an Attorney who is reliable, trustworthy and experienced in financial matters. This may be a family member, friend or a Trustee company such as Tasmanian Perpetual Trustees. You may appoint more than one Power of Attorney, for example, appointing your spouse, with the provision that if they are unable to act on your behalf, then Tasmanian Perpetual Trustees will be appointed.
